John Dillemuth Blomberg Obituary
John Dillemuth Blomberg Sr. passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020, at the age of 90, in Lacey, Washington. John was born in Seattle on December 1, 1929. He spent most of his life in the greater Puget Sound area, except for a short time in Texas.
John loved working with his hands. Throughout his lifetime he built or remodeled several homes. In the mid-1950s, he designed and built the original buildings for Boehm’s Candies in Issaquah. He worked as an engineer at Boeing, a manager at Camp Arnold, and in maintenance at Eatonville Schools. Everywhere he worked he touched lives and made lasting friendships.
After retirement, John continued his love of woodworking. Making gifts for family and friends, as well as creating beautiful birdhouses for many charity auctions.
From his youth in the Glee Club to singing in church, John always had a song in his heart. A soft-spoken man, you could search him out by the song in the air as he worked.
John was known for his generous heart. He volunteered to help those in need, including family, friends, church, and community. He truly enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and sharing experiences with them.
Above all of this, John loved the Lord. It was his relationship with Christ that brought him through the difficult times and it was this same relationship that put the song in his heart. His love of God was the source of his generosity and his loving caring relationship with his family was an outward manifestation of this love.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and wives Maud and Freida. He is survived by his children, John Jr. (Jane) Blomberg, Nancy Evans, Diana (Dan) Camp, Earle (Stephanie) Blomberg, Liz (Tim) Kastner, Orin (Holly) Blomberg, Stephen (Kyoko) Blomberg, eighteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the future. In honor of John, please cherish your family and spend time with them.
