He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Olney and Mildred Henry Olney; his sons, Michael and David; and his wife Peggy.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Janell, Brandon and Michael Jr.; and his stepchildren, Randy Hartnell (Carla), Alinda Ruhle, Terry Hartnell (Laura) and Shari Larsen (Mike). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Whatcom Hospice and/or The Nature Conservancy in honor of Gene.
