He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Thomas and Jane Elenor Dempsey; his brothers, Dennis and Chris; and his sister-in-law Marcia.
He is survived by: his wife Fran Dempsey; his children, Stephen Dempsey (Delinda) of LaCenter, WA, Tommy Dempsey of Portland, OR, Sarah Dempsey (Craig) of Seattle, WA and Emily Dempsey (Scott) of Kailua, HI.; his brothers, James 'Jed Dempsey (Evelyn), Ralph 'Tom Dempsey and Grady Dempsey; his cousin Steve Armstrong (Anne); his grandchildren, Heather Wall (Ryan) and Michael Dempsey; his great grandchildren, Logan Ryba and Mason Wall; and his former wife Monika. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
