He was predeceased by: his parents, David William Kassens and Grace Thompson Kassens; and his siblings, Albert, Calvin, Elmer Kassens and Bernice Kassens Lundin.

He is survived by: his wife Wanda Latimer Kassens; his daughter Debra Kassens Greenman (Jerry Greenman); and his grandson Michael Greenman (Sara Greenman). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
