James Berg Obituary

The memory of James Berg of Dayton, Washington, born in Preston, Washington, who passed away on July 6, 2024 at the age of 68, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Algot "Rast" Berg and Marjorie Berg; his grandparents, Ronald and Mabel Johnson; his aunts, Linnea Berg, June Hubbard, Lois Davidson and Helen Johnson; his uncle Ronald Earl Johson; his cousins, Wilma Totten, Steven Davidson and Scott Davidson; and his close friends, Mark Chavers and Dave DeCota.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Blanchette; and his sons, Gunnar James Berg (Krista), Logan Berg and Hunter Berg.

Jim pursued swimming and cycling and trained and competed in the STP (Seattle to Portland), the RSVP (Ride from Seattle to Vancouver), and team triathlons.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests donations be made by check to the Dayton High School Alumni Association for the James Berg Memorial Scholarship. Donations can be mailed or dropped off at the Dayton School District Office, 609 S 2nd Street, Dayton, WA 99328.
