Ethel Dougliss Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ethel Dougliss in Coupeville, Washington, born in Oak Harbor, Washington, who passed away on December 19, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Karen Franzen (Mark) of Oak Harbor, WA and Michael Dougliss (Joanie) of Oak Harbor, WA; her sister Margaret Dougliss of Coupeville, WA.; her parents, Theodore Dougliss and Mary Dougliss; her siblings, Theodore Dougliss, Jr., Wesley Dougliss and Geneva Thiefield; her grandparents, William Dougliss and Everdina Dougliss; her uncle Albert Dougliss; and her aunt Elizabeth Dougliss. She was also cherished by eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Having recently survived a COVID infection, it has been noted that 'it's a good bloodline' the Dougliss family has; during the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918, Ethel's grandfather, William Dougliss; her grandmother, Everdina Dougliss; her father, Theodore Dougliss; her uncle, Albert Dougliss; and her aunt, Elizabeth Dougliss, all came down with the Spanish Flu and survived. Fast forward 102 years, and it is no doubt due to the 'antibodies in the bloodline' that Ethel and sister, Margaret, both survived having COVID during the pandemic of 2020.
The family is grateful to the staff at Regency Coupeville for the excellent care she received during her 4 year stay there and asks that donations be made in Ethel's name to Regency Coupeville in lieu of flowers.
