He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ray, Leo, Elmer, Douglas Elmes, Amy Ross, May Sparks and Irma Nylander.
He is survived by: his parents, Alonso Ralph and Florence Bell Elmes (Bagley); his spouse Jean Winnifred Jackson; his children, Roberta West (George) of Old Town, ID and Randy Elmes of Wenatchee, WA; his stepchildren, Judy Hentges (Jim) of Reardon, WA, Paula Flemming (Hal) of Colville, WA, Ron Snyder (Anadee) of Kettle Falls, WA, Bob Snyder (Diane) of Kettle Falls, WA and Ed Snyder (Louise) of Kettle Falls, WA; and his brother Marion "Speed" Elmes (Olive) of Westfield, PA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family.
