He was predeceased by: his brother Matthew Shelden; and his grandparents, Neil M., Flora Shelden and Richard Niderost. He is survived by: his parents, Neil R. Shelden and Laurel Niderost Shelden; his wife April Shelden; his siblings, Hart Shelden and Holly Shelden; and his grandmother Lou Niderost. He is also survived by six cousins; numerous aunts and uncles.
