He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Knopes and Caroline Knopes (Heitstuman); his wife Marlene "Alma" Marie Schaller; and his siblings, Merlyn Joseph "Merl", Alan David, Carol Mae Vogel and Janice Marie Ullman.
He is survived by: his siblings, Lawrence Lee "Larry", Nicholas Quentin "Nick", James Benjamin "Jim" (Pok Ye), Arlene Ann Rowden, Dolores Katherine "Dee" Wood and Susan Nadine Knopes. He is also survived by his family and the large number of friends.
