She was predeceased by: her father Charles Riley-Thornton; her husband Richard Young; her mother Nettie Riley Thornton; and her siblings, Lucille Thornton Boyer, Beatrice Thornton and Lawrence Thornton.
She is survived by: her children, Laura Warren (Bruce), Linda Axworthy (Bruce), Judy Skaer (Michael), Richard, Jr. and Steven (Donna). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
