He was predeceased by: his sisters, Mary Anne Marpert, Patricia Werner and Jane Myers; his brother-in-law Gary Myers; and his nephew Ron Myers.

He is survived by: his wife Erma; his stepsons, Chad Smith, Bret Smith (Jenny), Brittany Holland, Mack Smith, Kaylee Smith, Ethan Smith, Emma Houck and Fred Houck; and his nieces and nephews, Julie Schultz, Molly Allen, Colleen Goodwin, Terry Marpert, Kevin Marpert and Mike Myers.
