He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Bannister and Olga Bannister (Kuchin); his daughter-in-law Dora; his children, Greg Bannister (Dora) of Cle Elum and Tammy Tash (Josh) of Selah; his grandchildren, Brad Bannister (Jessie) of Spokane and Mallory Klees (Tim) of Kennewick; his great grandchildren, Gage, Kody and Hudson; his sister Evelyn Johnson of Iowa; his wife DeLiela "Snookie" Juris; his son Doug; and his sister Barbara. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
