He is survived by: his wife Denine; his son Scott (Deanna) of Spokane, WA; and his stepsons, Brian Kowalski (Terri) of Anchorage, AK and Daryl Kowalski (Tesa) of Wasilla, AK..

The family has requested no flowers be sent, rather, a donation in his name to IAFF 2916 Benevolent Association, Funds will be distributed to at a later date.
