He is survived by: his wife Sarah Peters (Mixon); his children, Rhonda Kearns, Sherri Hansen, Richard Peters and Robert Peters (Shawn); his sister Joan Westphal; and his grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Nicholas Peters, Christian Peters, Dylan Hansen, Trisha Noel, Erin Verley, Hillary Hull and Bailey Peters. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
