He is survived by: his wife Betty Nelson; his daughters, Tammy Grant (Curtis) of Charleston, SC and Deanne Ashmore (Kim) of Centralia; his stepdaughter Samantha Huffman of Centralia; his grandchildren, Michael, Erica, Brady, Mariyah, Taylor and Violet; his great grandchildren, Anthonio and Eamon; his brothers, Dennis Nelson (Bonnie) and Darryl Nelson (Lori); his nephew Wayne Nelson; and his daughter Robbie Winter Lieske of Napavine.

In lieu of cards or flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
