He is survived by: his wife Dorothea; his children, Sarah Barnes of Kennewick, Washington, Thomas Cowan of Vancouver and Michael Cowan (Ruth) of Walla Walla, Washington; and his brother Robert Cowan of Vancouver, Washington. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren.
