He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Blue Gardner and John F. Gardner, Jr.; and his siblings, John F. "Frank" Gardner, III and Ann G. Sagers. He is survived by: his niece Julie DeHaven of Charles Town; and his nephews, John Sagers of McMinnville and Judson Sagers of Skillman.
