He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Rickert and Katherine Rickert (Kester); his grandfather German; his former life partner Gloria June Davis of Bellingham; his wife Margaret Fohn; his sisters, Nancy Null and Linda Robertson; and his sister-in-law Beverly Whitsell.

He is survived by : his children, Amy and Jon; his grandchildren, Tye Rickert (Kerry), Joe Rasar (Julia), Tracie Fredlund (Josh), David Rasar (Kaylin), Camlynn Shearer (Saxton), Brett Rickert and Chelsea Herman (Jim); and his stepchildren, Stephen Fohn, Renee Peterson, Scott Fohn and Peter Fohn. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the His Place Community Church (1480 S Burlington Blvd, Burlington, WA 98233).
