He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Lowell and Carrie Lowell (Hall); and his sisters, Barbara Satterlee and Donna Traxler. He is survived by : his wife Colleen Lowell (Reis); his sons, Gregory (Marianne Lowell) and David (Rebecca Lowell); his brother Jack McFarland; and his grandchildren, Jake, Lyla, Emma, Jackie and Jenna.

On June 13, 2024, Carl Duane Lowell, at age 87, died after a courageous battle with Parkinson's. The world has lost one giant gentleman of a man, truly a man of "all seasons".
