He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Walther and Edward J. Walther; his daughter Bernadette Elder; and his siblings, Patricia Miller and Jim Walther.

He is survived by: his wife Penny; his children, Joe Walther, Michael Hetland, Patty Wimmer and Teresann Kirk; and his sister Janice Stavee. He is also survived by numerous grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
