He was predeceased by: his parents, Charley Bass Wade and Willie Mae Barnwell Wade; his stepfather Earl Holmes; his siblings, Roy Wade, Lloyd Wade, Loren Wade, Ed Lukenbill (Bear) and Cleta McNett; and his grandson Garrett Wade.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ballew Wade; his children, Rick Wade of Illinois, Michael Wade (Regina) of Cullowhee, NC, Scott Wade (Sandra) of Morganton, NC. and Dawn Robbins (David) of Texas; his sister June Roberts of Springfield, Missouri.; his grandchildren, Whitney Wade (Perry) of Nebo, NC, Gardiner Wade of Illinois, Billy Wade of Wisconsin and Vanessa Mueller (Kurt) of Wisconsin; his great grandchildren, Tucker, Gavin, Aubrey Wade, Lincoln Milligan and Remi Taylor; and his sisters-in-law, Rose Wade of Washington, Dottie Wade of Colorado, Bonnie Lugenbell of Missouri and Eugenia Penland of Asheville, NC.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Due to the rise in COVID infections, there will only be a private family memorial service celebrating his very full life at Beam Funeral Services and Crematory, 2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC, 28752.
