He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Starkenburg and Gertie Starkenburg (Van Weerdhuizen); and his siblings, Pete, Marinus, Jake Starkenburg, Lena Brink and Augusta Zoet.
He is survived by: his wife Ping; his stepchild Min Cai Lu (XiXi Feng); his stepgrandchild Zi Tong Lu; his stepchild Yu Wen Lu (Chris); and his siblings, Gertie Wark of Bellingham, WA and Allen Starkenburg of Ashcroft, B. C.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Whatcom Hospice House or your favorite charity.
