He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy DeMerchant and Merida DeMerchant; his brother Blanchard DeMerchant; and his grandson Josiah Richards. He is survived by: his wife Joan Hoxsey; his children, Jeff DeMerchant (Danielle) of Benton, KY, Ginny (Jay Richards) of University Park, MD and Holly (Dan Alexander) of Bonney Lake, WA; and his grandchildren, Cassie Beaman (Eric Beaman), Bethany DeMerchant, James DeMerchant, Gillian Richards, Ellie Richards, Josephine Alexander, Benjamin Alexander and Faith DeMerchant.
