She was predeceased by: her parents, William Johnston and Marjorie Johnston (Schell); her stepmother Greta; and her siblings, Bruce and Mary.
She is survived by: her husband John Torrillo; her children, Amy Schauer (Derek) and Kristy O'Connor (Brad); her grandchildren, Alyssa and Camden Schauer; and her sister Kay Mowbray.
As the Alzheimer's progressed she lost the ability to greet people by name.
