She was predeceased by: her parents, George Schmuhl and Anna Schmuhl; and her siblings, Florence, Harold and Wilbur.

She is survived by: her husband Hubert "Hub" Thoreson; her son Steven Thoreson (Heidi); her brother Carroll Schmuhl (Opal); her siblings-in-law, Helen, Martha Schmuhl and Vern Thoreson (Beverly); and her stepgranddaughters, Nicole, Brandie and Katie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
