Margaret Denyl Rowe Obituary
Margi was born March 12, 1959 in Bellingham, WA. She graduated High School in Petaluma, CA, then went on to complete a 4 year Bachelors degree program in 1981 at Ambassador College in Pasadena, CA, where she would meet her future husband. Married in May 1982, she worked full time for the College's IT department as a computer programmer until 1996, when she, along with her husband and children, moved to Washington state, to be close to family. Settling on to a small farm on the outskirts of Lynden, WA, she accepted a computer programming position at Haggen Corporation, a popular grocer in the northwest, where she worked until her retirement in 2012.
Life since retirement had been full of farm activities, gardening, preserving produce, quilting, sewing, jewelry making, and helping friends and family members with whatever they were doing. She enjoyed playing the piano, sailing, line dancing, learning new skills, and teaching and sharing with others those skills she mastered. Recognized for her dedication and unfailing service not only to fellow church members but all with whom she came in contact, she was ordained a deaconess in 2017. She leaves a legacy of serving and giving to others, never thinking of herself.
In April of 2024, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, and for the next six months fought bravely through multiple chemo treatments and hospital stays. She succumbed finally on November 19th, leaving a huge hole in the lives of those who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Peter Rowe, daughter Jamie Holmes (James) of Lynden, WA, son Gregory Rowe of Everett, WA, son Brian Rowe of Allentown, PA, and son David Rowe (Sarah) of Salem, OR, her father, James John of Blaine, WA, her brother, Jerrel John (Annette) of Blaine, WA, and one grand-daughter, Adrianna Holmes of Lynden, WA.
Memorial service will take place 2:00pm Wednesday, December 4th, at the Moles Farewell Tributes Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale, WA, where she will be laid to rest close to her mother and other departed family.
