It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois Bertina Zender of Bellingham, Washington, born in Sumas, Washington, who passed away on January 20, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Merriam and Belle Merriam; her husband Joe Zender; her siblings, Betty Sorenson, Grace Jonasson and Harry Merriam; her daughter JoAnne Smith; and her grandson Kenny Brown.

She is survived by: her children, Doug, Cathy Zender, Don, Marie Valum, Dean and Betsy Zender; and her son-in-law Jeff Smith. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
