It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Henry Butenschoen of Bellingham, Washington, born in Milbank, South Dakota, who passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Butenschoen and Sophia Butenschoen; his sons, Randy and Greg Butenschoen; and his siblings, Oscar, George, Bob, LeRoy, Chuck and Alma Dockter.

He is survived by: his great grandchild Scarlett; his great great grandchild Ruth; his wife Alice Butenschoen; his children, Steve Butenschoen (Mary), Gary Butenschoen (Lisa), Cheryl Brager, Karen McKay (Scott) and Marcia Holz (Dan); and his siblings, Walter, Ted, David and Dorothy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
