He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Hanson and Emily Halfpap Hanson. He is survived by: his wife Norma Cavell; his children, Mary Adler (Greg) of Ferndale, WA and Mark Hanson (Lijuan) of Bellevue, WA; and his grandchildren, Curtis Adler, Keira Hanson and Lia Hanson.
He also enjoyed reading, trips to the library, sharing about history, learning new skills such as public speaking, oil painting through an enjoyable course at SCC, walking at the high school track and later enjoyed exercise with the local Parkinson's Support Group which he spoke of often.
