She was predeceased by: her husband John "Jack" Geise; and her parents, Paul Benthien and Johanna Benthien. She is survived by: her daughter Christina (Irma); her sister-in-law Caroline Tarpley; her nephew John Tarpley (Mary Ann); and her niece Julie Tarpley.
Along with her museum work, she volunteered with the Alzheimer's Foundation and the Assistance League to name a few.
