It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Ferguson Wheelis (Bainbridge Island, Washington), born in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on April 11, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his daughter Pam Shor (Wheelis); his son-in-law Marc Shor; and his grandchildren, Ryann Shor and Miller Shor.

“I first met Roger through mutual friends at USC in the 1950's. He was crewing one summer on a sailboat in Hawaii and I was also there for the summer with my family. We had many hilarious dinners that he cooked on the sailboat in Honolulu, and he was very good cook! I was surprised, many years later, that he would end up in Seattle and be my husband's partner in pathology at VM. He was a great guy and we all shared many good times together.
