He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Stephens and Lillian Stephens (Majors); and his siblings, Gale, Jeannie and Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Rae McGee; his children, Richard A. Stephens of Pullman and Jennifer Thirsk (Kevin) of Colorado Springs, CO; his sister Kimberly Wyatt; his siblings-in-law, Leslee Edison (Harry), Cheryl Ellenberger (Gary) and Dale Cody; his grandchildren, Adrian Stephens, Luke, Noah and Chelsea Thirsk; his great grandchild Elias Michael Thirsk; and his nieces and nephews, Amber Stephens, Shannon Crites (Clint), Shelly Cowell (Patrick), Annette Phipps (Ken) and Ron Watkins (Anesia).
