He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Thomas Bednarik and Anna Bednarik (Blahut); and his siblings, Andrew Bednarik, Jr., Adolph Bednarik, Klara Kegg and Adeline Gausepohl.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Bednarik (Hartzog); and his children, Gerald Bednarik, Jr. (Paula) of Aberdeen, David Bednarik of Elma, Carol Druzianich (Darryl) of Elma and Karen Royer (Craig) of Dayton, Ohio. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren as well as 15 nieces and nephews.
