Nelson of Montpelier; his wife Anne Nelson; his grandchild Jordan; his stepchildren, Ethan Tyrrell of Worcester and Laura (Jon Townsend) of Worcester; his stepgrandchildren, Adrielle and Vivian; his sisters, Judy Sayers of Worcester, Franne Nelson of Morrisville and Donna Barry of Hoonah; and his nephew Robert LaClair of Barre Town. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
