He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Zotique Gravel and Marguerite MacLeod Gravel (Molly); his brother Danny; and his uncles, Len and Max MacLeod.
He is survived by: his wife Debbie of Woodstock; his siblings, Mona Arreola (Raoul) of Jacksonville, FL and Ken Gravel (Jane) of Beaverton, OR; his nieces and nephews, Cathi Montpellier (Bob) of Crawfordville, FL, Barbara Indermitte (Claude), Tom Knowles (Julie) of Collierville, TN, Rob Arreola (Melissa) of Nashville, TN, Kiah Gravel (Rachel) of Hillsboro, OR and Coby Gravel (Jessica) of Prescott, AZ; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Emily, Isabelle, Dominick, Sylvie Indermitte, Madelyn, Rob Montpellier, Catherine, Alexander, Victoria, Diana Knowles, Gabriel, Mia, Adrian, Alivia Gravel, Charles and Ethan Arreola; his aunt Audrey; his former wife Alison Gravel of South Royalton; and his pets, Neumann and Nikkei.
John was a member of the Woodstock Masonic Lodge and attended meetings until Covid.
