He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther H. Parkhurst and Lilah L. Parkhurst; his brother Earl; and his stepsiblings, Clarence Green and Joyce Willey.
He is survived by: his wife Gale; his sisters, Barbara Beeman and Doris LaBree; and his children, Susan Mercia, Shelly Parkhurst, Gregory and Herbert Jr.. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
