He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Terrance Goodell and Helen Mildred Goodell; and his sister Marjorie Goodell. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Esther Goodell (Boyd); his children, Jennifer Dawn Goodell and Craig Michael Goodell; his sister Mary Jane Spencer (Maurice Spencer); and his grandchildren, Brialyn Renee, Ethan Michael, Keiron Christopher and Ellyanna Lea. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
