He was predeceased by: his grandson Ryan Ji; his sister Alicia Dionne of Baltimore, Maryland; his siblings-in-law, Barbara Salls (Leon) of Randolph, Hiram "Isaac" Salls (Edwina) of Randolph, Doreen Salls of Barre, Jessie Montague (Mitch) of Sharon and Julie Tabor (Dave) of Randolph; his brother Kenneth; his sister-in-law Adeline Hackett; his mother-in-law Freda Salls; his siblings-in-law, Duane Salls, Dean Salls, Gordon Salls, Bill Dionne and Madeine Rice; his nephew Jeff Dionne; and his close friend Mike Pillarella.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Louise Salls; his daughter Emily Hazel Hackett-Fiske of Williston; his son-in-law Jason Scott Fiske of Loudon; and his grandchildren, Leah Hana, Noah Robert, Avah Rose, Caleb James and Michael Ellis.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home (903 Hartford Ave., White River Junction, VT 05001). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Hudson Firefighters Relief Association, to honor his enduring dedication and friendship.
