He was predeceased by: his parents, Houghton N. Sawyer, and Sarah Graham Sawyer, Sr.; and his stepsons, John Roberts, Jr. and Danny Phelps. He is survived by: his wife Alzada Murdock Sawyer of Whitingham; his stepchildren, Rebecca Goodson (Roberts) of South Carolina, Linda Roberts (Bob) of New York and Ricky Phelps of Massachusetts; and his sister Margaret. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren.
