It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sandra Freitas Smith of White River Junction, Vermont, born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on August 31, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her caregiver Sandra; her husband Everett John Smith; her children, Ellen Mary and Professor Thomas Everett Smith; her granddaughters, Keiko Elizabeth and Amaya Michelle of Williamstown, Massachusetts; her great grandchild Ellen Mary Smith; her grandchildren, Madeleine Elizabeth and Henry Everett Thomas of Wrentham, Massachusetts; her siblings, Judith Freitas Pippin of Lexington, John Freitas of Newton, Robert Freitas and Kathryn Freitas Sousa of Rochester; and also Jean (Gardner). She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
