She was predeceased by: her parents, Franklin Hurd and DeEtte Hurd (Carpenter); her husband Reed Benjamin; her grandson Eddie Reed Leavitt; and her siblings, Vance, Irving, Harry, Ralph Hurd, Bertha Nigro, Mildred Crowley and Helen Smith.
She is survived by: her stepdaughters, Dorothy Leavitt (Ed) and Mary Fogg (Nelson) of Wilder, VT; and her grandchildren, Rick Leavitt (Cheryl), Conrad Farnham-Leavitt, Nelson (Vicky), Jeff (Jennifer), Greg Fogg (Samantha), Amy, Laurie, Bayada, Jeanette Leavitt and Bobbijo Vail. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
At the request of Norma's family, masks are requested.
Contributions in her honor may be made to the Ed Leavitt Music Scholarship at the Hartford High School.
