He was predeceased by: his sister Nancy. He is survived by: his parents, Joseph V. and Johanna VanBlerck Breen; his wife Kathleen Reu Breen; his children, Joseph of New York City and Johanna of Pittsfield; and his brothers, George and John.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Soldier On in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
