He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nelson Smith and Sarah "Sadie" Smith (Wood); his wife Alice Smith of East Montpelier; his children, Jackie Smith-Nielsen (Erik Nielsen) of Brookfield and Michael Smith of Barre; his sister Barbara Fantoni of East Barre; his nieces and nephews, Kim (Pam Titus) and Aldo (Jodie); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Aleta, Daniel, Maria and Gina.
