He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara; and his siblings, Arthur Miraglia and Frances Panzica. He is survived by: his cousin Lucretia Mancuso; his friend Barbara Weisz; his brother Anthony "Nino" Miraglia; his daughters, Susan Tamoney (Andrew Tamoney), Stephanie Miraglia (Allan Garvey), Elizabeth Miraglia and Mary Sylvia (Vincent Sylvia Jr.); and his grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher Tamoney, Daniel, Joseph Staples, Calnan and Kathleen Sylvia. He is also survived by his wife, his daughters and, later in life, his grandchildren and sons-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation made in Joe's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
