It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Frederick Whiting Bird (South Burlington, Vermont), who passed away at the age of 70, on March 12, 2025. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Frederick Whiting had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Frederick Whiting may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Anne Bird and Charles Bird. He is survived by: his siblings, Lucy Bird Masters (Jeffrey) of Burlington and Stephen Charles Bird of New York City. He is also survived by two nephews; and several cousins.
Everything changed quickly in his last few months, when he experienced a number of falls, ER visits, Covid, hospitalizations including spinal decompression surgery, surgical rehab, and ultimately a short-lived move to a skilled nursing facility, relying on a wheelchair.
