He was predeceased by: his wife Helen (Beardlsee). He is survived by: his parents, Fred Johnstone and Reba Johnstone; and his children, South Burlington, Elizabeth (Roy Prochorchik), Margaret Taves (Johnstone) and Fred Johnstone (Leigh). He is also survived by his 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in Donald's memory may be made to the music fund of College Street Congregational Church.
