He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Barkley Smith and Helen M. Smith (Barnum); and his daughter Elaine. He is survived by: his children, Amanda, Sara, Eric and Johanna; and his brothers, James and Roger Kendall. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
