He was predeceased by: his son Wolfgang Herbert Ludwig Jr.; and his father Fritz Paul Ludwig. He is survived by: his wife Priscilla Ayers Ludwig; his daughters, Martha R. Ludwig, Jessica Ludwig and Jennifer Ludwig; his mother Martha Kittel Ludwig; and his brother Fritz Wolfgang Ludwig.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation or the Green Mountain Club.
