He was predeceased by: his parents, George McGuire and Dorothy McGuire; his close friend Shirley Barbeau; his son George "Mick" McGuire; and his grandsons, Michael J. Thomas and Danny C. Thomas.

He is survived by: his daughters, Michele (Anthony Van Ness), Mary McGuire (Robert Bourn) and Kathleen (James Melton); and his sister Margaret Galvin of North Bennington, VT. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
