He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph Sr. and Marian Elizabeth Palmer (Hart); and his sister Mary Beth Gordon. He is survived by: his daughter Mya Cassidy Palmer-Ely; his siblings, Deborah Palmer of North Haven, CT, John Palmer, Jr. of Milford, CT, Michael Palmer, David Palmer of South Miami, FL and Dawn Palmer of Middletown, CT; and his brothers-in-law, David Gordon and Bruce Sparks of North Haven, CT.
